Best gift!

I’m usually confusing everyone with the names of my posts, so I’ll make this easy for you:
This is what you call ‘in my mailbox’ and all posts called ‘under my pillow’ will be about the books I was given (maybe even some that I bought), books that I can’t wait to read and feature in my following posts.

Back to Shadows, oh my! I was so happy to come back from holidays and find this amazing book in my mailbox!!

Shadows by Paula Weston

You know how I love to read, you know how I love to talk about the books I like and you probably know how happy one can be when getting a book from a publisher/author. This past year I’ve received many books for review, all of them in ebook format, so you can imagine how happy I was today to receive the first ‘real’ paper-book, one that I’ve been holding my breath for, one that I can’t wait to start reading (I’ll probably even put on hold the book I’m currently reading just for this beauty here).

So, yes, this deserves a celebration! Happy me!

About the book:
It’s almost a year since Gaby Winters watched her twin brother die.
In the sunshine of a new town her body has healed, but her grief is raw and constant.
It doesn’t help that every night in her dreams she fights and kills hell-beasts.
And then Rafa comes to town and tells her things about her and her life that cannot be true, things that are dangerous.
Who is Rafa? Who are the Rephaim? And who is Gaby?
The truth lies in the shadows of her nightmares.

Book #1 in The Rephaim Series; Published July 2nd 2012 by Text Publishing Australia

About the author:

Paula Weston:
I’m the Brisbane-based author of Shadows: book 1 of the Rephaim series(Text Publishing). Haze (book 2) is due out in 2013.
Aside from that, I’m an avid reader and blogger, a huge fan of Australian literature and fantasy/paranormal stories, a closet comic reader and TV addict…and I’m borderline obsessed with the Foo Fighters.
I also love to cook, eat, drink and travel and tend to get passionate about Middle Eastern politics, human rights, ethical food production… actually, I can get passionate about pretty much anything. 🙂

Thank you so much Paula and Stephanie Stepan for making this possible!

PS: I probably definitely looked crazy when I started jumping around after I got it, but in moments like this I am happy to be so small and look like a kid.. a happy kid 😉
