You know how from time to time you read in a book about a male character that you like a lot and you would just love to hear his version of the story? Well there is no more need for that, because in this case you get to hear his story – and you still love it.
Cas is the typical cool guy – he looks good and he knows it, he is charming and nice with everyone, and oh, there’s also this cool thing about him: he is a ghost hunter.
Ok, so he is not the best ghost hunter in the world, even if in the beginning you tend to think so, but it was nice to see him on his best and also on his struggling-to-stay-alive-and-not-die-of-embarrassment-in-front-of-his-friends kind of moments.
One thing that I loved about this book is the dark atmosphere – if you read it at night like I did, it might give you a chill, in a good way.
Another thing I liked was the friendship – I liked Cas’ friends and I can’t wait to see the new adventures they will share in the next book in the series.
But now about Anna – her story was sad and some part of me wanted Cas to help her, but another part of me just thought about all those other ghosts Cas had killed without caring much about their history. Every ghost had a sad story and an tragic end, that’s how they got to be ghosts in the first place and that made them kill as well. Why was Anna so different (except for the love interest, off course)?
I wanted more development on this side – their story was rushed, I didn’t see them falling for each other, I didn’t feel the moment when Cas had a change of heart, and it made me believe that he was a bit (or a lot) of a hypocrite and selfish… And I know that love is selfish, but …
But then again, what love? When did they have enough time to fall in love?
When she tried to kill him – because it’s so damn sexy for a dead girl with crazy hair and bloody dress to try to murder you .. yeah, any guy’s dream come true I bet *rolling eyes*
I’m not saying this often because I simply love love-stories, but this time, I would have preferred it without the romantic side of it.
Without the love part, the story was really great 🙂
