A Book Blogger is Born

TGIF at GReads - This feature is for Fridays to re-cap the week’s posts & to propose a question for the followers.

Question: What made you decide to start your very own book blog?

Thinking back the way it all started, I blame it all on the books.
They made me want to read more and more and they made me want to share my love for them with other people.

You see, my friends and family are so not into the kind of books I read, so I couldn’t share my impressions with them. It’s not like I didn’t try, and it is not like they wouldn’t listen, but I do know them well enough. So I decided that it was best not to make them listen to some nonsense that meant quite nothing to them and I needed to find a place where I could talk about the books I loved with other people.

Going that way I found the perfect spot and I started to post all my thoughts about the books I read on GoodReads.
I am still a big fan of that ‘network of bookaholics’ (as I call it), but with the time passing I also needed a place of my own. So I guess this is the reason why.
I am not the best blogger ever as I don’t have much time to post as often as I wish, and the blog is pretty new so there are not many people that know about it, but it is my happy place, a small part of me.

I was so happy thinking about all the things I could write about, how I wanted it to look like, how I wanted other people to like it as well, and when it was all done I really felt like a kid on Christmas Eve wishing to share it with all the people I knew in the ‘book world’.

Reading is a magical thing, it can make you feel like you are someone else, doing all crazy things you wouldn’t normally do, and I love reading just as much as I love to share my thoughts about all these beloved stories with everyone in the entire world, wishing that they could enjoy the same books just as much as I do.

It’s somehow cute and crazy in the same time, but in a good way.
I’ve met so many great people since I started this blog that it feels just right.
These days enjoying a book, writing down some notes, looking for the perfect pictures and finishing the review is part of my routine, one that I can’t seem to want or to be able to stay away from.

Thank you all for being a part of this world, for reading my reviews, for giving me feedback, for recommending me new books to read and for being as awesome as you are!

Happy midnight reading!

Ok, so after playing with your banner for the past couple minutes (that is the coolest one I have seen yet!) I agree with what you said about friends and family. Most of them for me do not read at all or have very different taste from me. I love goodreads also, but I am like you and wanted my own space. great answer and definitely a new follower. (if only a little for your banner :) )

Hahaa, thanks, I am glad that you like it :D
I just remembered… another thing that made me want my own blog was that on GR I couldn’t place the pictures the way I wanted them. Seems like a minor problem but for me it’s all about the visuals, as I like to show my thoughts through images when words are not enough.
Thanks for following, I am following you back ;)

I just started my book blog about a week ago, and agree with every word you’ve said. I actually posted a similar blog today about why I started. All I can say is that I’m already addicted. Just having a space where you can rant and rave about books, while not driving your friends and family absolutely insane, is kind of nice. I hope one day my blog is almost as awesome as yours!

I know the feeling, I love to talk about the book I enjoy too.
It’s not enough to only read and enjoy a book, I want to share that joy with everybody :) )

I wish I had more time, because between work, having fun and reading I have too little time for all the posts I would like to write.
