Back to normal chaos…

As you’ve probably noticed, I’ve been away for a few days enjoying some beautiful family moments, but I hope that the blog kept you company in all this time. Now that I’m back it is time to catch-up with some updates: movie news, books I’ve been reading and some books I’m waiting for.

Been watching…

MTV’s Set Visit and Interviews with the Cast and Author of The Host.

Yes, there are finally some news about The Host movie and I am doing a happy dance over here.
Josh Horowitz interviewed Saoirse Ronan, Max Irons, and Stephenie Meyer about the film and we get some glimpses of the set as well (it’s huge, it’s beautiful and I can’t wait to see it on the big screen).

If you haven’t seen the video yet, then you can watch it below and join me in this crazy dance.

I can’t even tell you how happy I am to see these actors on set. Now I am waiting for a trailer or some promotional images or anything really to feed my hunger for news.
In the following image you can see Jared, the cute little Jamie, Wanda, Ian (oh my, finally!) and uncle Jeb – at this point I pretty much like them all, even though the doubts keep popping up from time to time.

Been Reading…

I only got to read 2 books (“What A Boy Wants” by Nyrae Dawn and “From What I Remember” by Stacy Kramer, Valerie Thomas), but I won’t even be able to review them as I didn’t get to the last page. Oh, I hate it when it happens.
I wanted to have some fun with these stories, to enjoy them, but somehow by the middle of the first book I got bored and had to move on with the other one, but without much luck.

I am usually not into the ‘it’s not you, it’s me‘ theory, but for your own good I really hope that it was my fault that I didn’t like these books. I just couldn’t relate with the characters and the story-lines didn’t catch my attention, not to mention that the conversations seemed forced and I started skipping more than reading. Still, I hope that you will get to enjoy both of them if you ever get the chance to read them (you can always come back to this post to tell me what I’ve missed).

Been waiting…

Well it is not like I’m not not doing it anymore, but maybe if I share them with you we will enjoy this waiting together ;))

“Time Between Us” by Tamara Ireland Stone

(Expected publication: October 9th 2012 by Hyperion)
Anna and Bennett were never supposed to meet: she lives in 1995 Chicago and he lives in 2012 San Francisco. But Bennett’s unique ability to travel through time and space brings him into Anna’s life, and with him, a new world of adventure and possibility.
As their relationship deepens, they face the reality that time might knock Bennett back where he belongs, even as a devastating crisis throws everything they believe into question. Against a ticking clock, Anna and Bennett are forced to ask themselves how far they can push the bounds of fate—and what consequences they can bear in order to stay together.
Fresh, exciting, and deeply romantic, TIME BETWEEN US is a stunning and spellbinding debut from an extraordinary new talent in YA fiction.

“Falling For You” by Lisa Schroeder

(Expected publication: 2013 by Simon Pulse)
Rae’s always dreamed of dating a guy like Nathan. He’s nothing like her abusive stepfather—in other words, he’s sweet. But the closer they get, the more Nathan wants of her time, of her love, of her…and the less she wants to give.
As Rae’s affection for Nathan turns to fear, she leans on her friend Leo for support. With Leo, she feels lighter, happier. And possessive Nathan becomes jealous.
Then a tragedy lands Rae in the ICU. Now, hovering between life and death, Rae must find the light amid the darkness…and the strength to fight for life and the love she deserves.

“Eve & Adam” by Katherine Applegate and Michael Grant
(Expected publication: October 2nd 2012 by Feiwel & Friends)

Sixteen-year-old Evening Spiker lives an affluent life in San Francisco with her mother, EmmaRose, a successful geneticist and owner of Spiker Biotech. Sure, Evening misses her father who died mysteriously, but she’s never really questioned it. Much like how she’s never stopped to think how off it is that she’s never been sick. That is, until she’s struck by a car and is exposed to extensive injuries. Injuries that seem to be healing faster than physically possible.
While recuperating in Spiker Biotech’s lush facilities, she meets Solo Plissken, a very attractive, if off-putting boy her age who spent his life at Spiker Biotech. Like Evening, he’s never questioned anything… until now. Solo drops hints to Evening that something isn’t right, and Emma-Rose may be behind it. Evening puts this out of her mind and begins her summer internship project: To simulate the creation of the perfect boy. With the help of Solo, Evening uncovers secrets so big they could change the world completely

This being said, have a great weekend and happy midnight reading!

The Host looks much more convincing in terms of acting than the twilight movies…i can’t wait to see this

I don’t know what to think just yet, but I really hope that. I can’t take another movie failure *sigh* and I liked this book too much to be disappointed (not that I have very high expectations, because I know that the boks are always better, but I still want to enjoy it)

Can’t wait to catch your review on that. Thanks for adding the Halloween button to your blog. I’ve got you on the schedule and I am putting your blog button in my roll today! Have a great week, Ari!

Thanks, it’s so good to spend time with my family, as I miss them so much when they are not around – so yeah, I had a really great time and it would have been great to have a few more days with them.
Eve and Adam has a great description but also a beautiful cover, I simply can’t wait for it (October couldn’t come faster)

  3. Welcome back!
Amazing post! I didn’t know about that video!!!!! So, thanks so much for the update, I missed it!
Eve and Adam looks and sounds amazing. Hope you can read it soon!

Waiting until October is such a pain, but at least there are many other books that should come first, so I guess I will still be entertained… But yeah, if I’ll get an ARC for one of these I’m gonna feel like the luckiest girl in the world ;))
Later Edit: I love that video as well and I can’t wait to see some more 😀

Loved your post! I didn’t know about the video so I was glad to watch it. I definitely have to read the Host, but with the number of books that have piled up, I have no idea what to read first.

    • Ari says:

It is still one of my favorites books, but I understand why people keep away from it (some are not big fans of alien books; other reasons might have to do with the author). I only hope that if someday you will decide to pick it up you will like it 🙂
And I know how hard it is to pick something to read, I have many books that I want to read, but still don’t get the chance to do so ;))
