When there’s no book around..

Question: What occupies your time when your nose isn’t stuck in a book?

Well, this week my nose was pretty much safe, thank you very much for your concern, as I couldn’t stick it in books as much as I wanted to.

Usually work is what keeps me away from reading. When I have something important that I have to finish, I think about what I’ll be reading afterwards and I speed-up the process to end with more free time for my reading.

If I am not working, spending time with my husband and friends is something I prefer as well. It’s fun to read, but it’s even more fun to enjoy the company of the people you love. Having moved to another city makes the company of our old friends a lot more precious and I enjoy all the weekends when they come to visit – it’s a good opportinity to show them around the city and also find new places to go.

From time to time even the blog keeps me away from my books. Its purpose should be the opposite, but on some nights I spend time working on the blog design that should be up soon (hopefully), writing an article, searching for pictures or replying to comments and I leave reading for another time.

But today is none of the above.
Today I struggle with a bit of cold I caught the other day, and even though it should make me want to curl up in bed with a cup of tea and a book, I am in no mood for reading.
The “curl up in bed” thingy sounds pretty nice though.

Still I usually find enough free time to read at night. I love to read a beautiful story to set my mind free, and then wait for the dreams to take me on another wonderful trip.

Aww, I hope you get well soon! Definitely curl up with something hot and a good book tonight 🙂

I wish I could find time to do the Curl Up in Bed thing. Before we had my little girl once in a while I’d have what I called a Duvet Day, usually a Sunday where I’d have a cuppa and the Sunday papers and/or a book in bed after a nice long lie in.

I don’t have kids and sometimes still don’t find time to just curl up in bed.. Today I felt like a school-girl – happy to be sick and stay in bed LOL.

You make a good point that blogging in a way takes us from reading – but since I enjoy doing it so much, I look at it as its own, stand-alone hobby. I think it’s important to have various hobbies and sounds like you are doing a good balance of that.

Maybe I should write a new post with the things that keep me away from reading these days :)) This post is from the end of 2011. Oh my god, when did time fly away like this?!nnShort story… nSince then the “new” theme has seen the light of many-many screens (it’s been in fact replaced by this current one). I am spending even less time with my friends, unfortunately, but a lot more with my family – which has a new member, my precious 1 year old boy. I am also spending less time reading or blogging *sigh*, but I am trying to make up for it on Instagram, as you already know, where I put my passion for photography to good use (or at least fun use). Balancing the things that make me happy is a must these days, but I probably wouldn’t change one thing. nnIt feels good to still be here after all these years. nIt feels good to keep in touch with book friends from back then, like you. nnThank you!

You’re very welcome. I know babies keep people so busy! My son will be turning 16 this year. The time really flies.

It does, looking back at the pictures from last year I get incredibly nostalgic. He is more of a “boy” and less of a “baby” and I miss each “version” of him already (I probably do this for the rest of my life). At each stage he was incredibly cute and I look forward to more cuteness each day, but I wish time would slow down a bit, I don’t want him to grow so fast, I want to enjoy each second each discovery. I bet you know even better than me what I’m saying :))
