Perfect Chemistry

Perfect Chemistry

by Simone Elkeles

SYNOPSIS:

First book in the “Perfect Chemistry” series.
A fresh, urban twist on the classic tale of star-crossed lovers. When Brittany Ellis walks into chemistry class on the first day of senior year, she has no clue that her carefully created -perfect- life is about to unravel before her eyes. She’s forced to be lab partners with Alex Fuentes, a gang member from the other side of town, and he is about to threaten everything she’s worked so hard for-her flawless reputation, her relationship with her boyfriend, and the secret that her home life is anything but perfect. Alex is a bad boy and he knows it. So when he makes a bet with his friends to lure Brittany into his life, he thinks nothing of it. But soon Alex realizes Brittany is a real person with real problems, and suddenly the bet he made in arrogance turns into something much more. In a passionate story about looking beneath the surface, Simone Elkeles breaks through the stereotypes and barriers that threaten to keep Brittany and Alex apart.

“We’re actors in our lives, pretendin’ to be who we want people to think we are.”

♥ I loved it! ♥
It’s hard to rate a book that you love a lot, that made you laugh until your cheeks hurt, that made you feel like a teenager again, giggling like a fool at every scene between the 2 main characters, wishing for the next installment to come really quick.. and this book did all this very well.

You won’t find anything life-saving in it, nothing impressive to keep you awake at night thinking about it, but if you like romantic stories you will love it, and this will be enough. You will have a great time enjoying a sweet story about 2 people from opposite wolds, trying to find a way to be together when everything (and everyone) around them is making them fall apart.

Meet Brittany, the perfect American daughter and student, and Alex the bad Mexican boy – put them together in a room and you will see sparks floating all around them – it’s sweet, it’s hot, it’s perfect 😉

“[Life] It is what you make it. If you think you can’t change the world, then go on and follow the path already carved out for you. But there are other roads to choose, they’re just harder to trudge through. Changing the world isn’t easy, but I sure as hell am going to keep trying. Are you?”

It was one of the very first YA I ever read, so it holds a spot in my heart 🙂 High five!

Actually I didn’t like the two books after this. Dunno why I just don’t like the flow, it’s like the originality of the first book was wiped off.

I liked the second one, the romance was not that great but it was very funny and it had some elements I really loved.
But the 3rd one *sigh* such disappointment.
